Endeavor L Levelling Gun Rests

Endeavor L Levelling Gun Rests

June 18, 2024 , Vanguard World

Vanguard has been designing and manufacturing award winning support systems since 1986, and has used that experience to launch our most stable and precise gun rest ever in the Endeavor L Series.

These come is a choice of 26mm or 30mm legs and a choice of aluminium or carbon fibre, and are designed to deliver a stable platform that is second to none.

The twist leg locks are designed to be silent to operate and lock each joint tightly. They are also easy to clean, allowing you to maximise the life of your tripod with some simple maintenance, no matter where they are used.

With three easy set leg angles, the Endeavor L Series  can be set up easily on any terrain and can rise up to over 1.7m on the 30mm leg options. While this is too high for the tallest of shooters, it allows to set up a stable base when shooting downhill.

It also includes the travel sized Endeavor LT 264CGM which folds down to 50.5cm and weighs just 1.5kg for longer hikes, and allows you to set up comfortably in a prone or seated position for the most comfortable shot.

At the top of the tripod is a 1/2 bowl levelling system that has been CNC machined from a solid block of aluminium to deliver maximum quality and the smoothest of movements. This 1/2 bowl levelling system allows you to adjust your aim up/down ±15° or pan 360° with ease, making it easy to get on target.

When locked in place, it delivers a solid base with a maximum load capacity of up to 15kg.  Alternatively the lock can be partially tightened to allow some movement, but holding your rifle still if you need to release it, for example to use your optics to scan the landscape around you.

The Endeavor L Series comes with a choice of two styles of universal removable rifle clamp - the solid Endeavor GM-70 Gun Mount or a super light Endeavor GM-700 Gun Mount. Click here for a blog dedicated to these models alone so you can choose the right model.

The Endeavor GM-70 is CNC machined from solid aluminium, with an oversized locking wheel that allows the clamp to open to 70mm at the top and the bottom, and weighs 815g, designed to handle the highest calibre rifles.

The models with the Endeavor GM-70 are:

The Endeavor GM-70 is fixed to the top of the 1/2 bowl levelling system with a 3/8” thread and the clamp can fit any rifle between 30mm and 70mm.  Simply loosen or tighten the clamp using the textured and oversized locking wheel that is easy to grip in the toughest weather conditions, with or without gloves.

The inner clamps have textured rubber linings that maximise the grip on your rifle, and prevent damage to the forestock.

The Endeavor GM-70 can be removed to allow you to fit an alternative head for photography or a spotting scope, maximising the versatility of this gun rest system.  It could also fit directly onto any standard tripod (smaller 1/4” threads will need to use an adaptor).

The Endeavor GM-65 is also CNC machined from solid aluminium, but designed to be around half the weight of the Endeavor GM-70. To offset the smaller size, the clamps are angled to give a better grip on rifles where the forestock tapers towards the barrel. This clamp opens to 65mm at the top, and 75mm at the base, enabling it to handle most calibre rifles.  Like the Endeavor GM-70, his can also be fitted direct to a tripod or an Arca compatible head.

The models with the Endeavor GM-65 are:

The travel sized Endeavor LT 264CGM incorporates the Endeavor GM-65 and folds down to 50.5cm and weighs just 1.5kg for longer hikes, and allows you to set up comfortably in a prone or seated position for the most comfortable shot.

The Endeavor L 263AGM 65 and Endeavor L 263CGM 65 are full sized versions, so extend to 152.5cm, but only fold down to 74cm.  That said they are a more portable alternative to the original Endeavor L models as they have a smaller levelling system that allows them to fold to a smaller diameter, and combined with the lighter Endeavor GM-65, they weigh up to 30% less than the original models.

So if you’re looking for the most stable and precise gun rest on the market, check out the Endeavor L Series.

Alternatively, if you fancy the idea of a more versatile tripod that does everything that the Endeavor L Series does, but has a handle to control the levelling system, and a levelling system that can be removed to allow you to fit alterative heads, then why not check out the Endeavor RL Series?
