Optic Guard DLX Binocular Harness

The Connect System and the Optic Guard System are interchangeable straps that allow you to choose the best strap for your trip, whether for photography or birdwatching.

The Optic Guard DLX H is a binocular harness system that delivers maximum comfort over extended periods.

Elasticated straps combine with a wide neoprene shoulder pads and a non-slip inner lining to customise the harness to you and spread the weight across the shoulders.  There is also a removable chest strap that can hold the shoulder straps in place, and be used to secure your binoculars as you move between locations.

The harness attaches to your binoculars using Vanguard's Optic Guard Clip DLX, a quick release system that is designed to keep your binoculars secure on the go, while allowing you to change your strap in seconds.

An 8cm Optic Guard Tether with a metal bean attaches to the strap eyelet on your binoculars, with the Optic Guard Clip attached to harness strap. To attach, simply slot the tether into the clip and pull down until secure. To release, pull the orange tab to 45° and slide the tether free. This allows you to switch between compatible straps in seconds.

To ensure the safety of your gear, the Optic Guard Clip DLX system rated to 90kg based on Vanguard’s vertical hanging test, or 20kg when dropped 25cm.

Connect Straps:

The Connect System is aimed primarily at photography, with a shorter 6cm tether. They can also be used for birdwatchers and are interchangeable with the Optic Guard system, though we'd recommend using the longer Optic Guard Tethers.

Optic Guard Harnesses:

The Optic Guard System is aimed primarily at birdwatching, with a longer 8cm tether to attach the eyepiece covers of your optics, whether a binocular or monocular.
