Influencers started moving towards more premium compact cameras that added more functionality and better results than the smartphone could deliver. As well as the functionality, this move seems to be driven by the same sense of nostalgia that is helping bring back film and driving sales of records, along with the desire for influencers to distinguish themselves from their competition who still use their mobile phone. This trend has been picked up by the camera brands with a host of value products retailing between £100 and £350 with models like the Kodak Pixpro FZ55 and the Canon Powershot V10, alongside models straddling the £1,000 price point like the Sony ZV-E10L and the Leica D-LUX 8. Into this market we’re still seeing new models like the Lumix TZ300 arriving in May 2026.
So while the choice of camera’s is growing, the camera bags to carry them in has all but disappeared.To address this Vanguard is delighted to introduce new compact camera bags in two series, the VESTA Aspire Series and the VEO Metro Series.
VESTA Aspire: This series focusses on delivering great value for money, and is available in two colours (grey and blue) and two sizes (small and medium).
VEO Metro: This series has tougher, more weatherproof 300D material with water-resistant SBS zippers. Alongside this, there is a more stylish design with a textured feel and a choice of four colours (beige, black, cream and burgundy) to match your style, and two sizes (small and medium).
Both series include a removable shoulder strap and a belt loop attachment on the back, with pockets to store accessories like SD cards or spare batteries, and the VEO Metro models also include a clip to attach it to a backpack strap.
The “small” camera bag will fit a compact camera up to 70 x 50 x 115mm, while the “medium” will fit a compact camera up to 80 x 70 x 130mm.
