VEO 5+ 263CLBS Carbon Tripod With Multi-Angle Central Column - 15kg Capacity

The VEO 5+ 263CLBS is a full sized carbon fibre tripod with the multi-angle central column that is perfect for almost any style of photography, but especially macro and studio photography.

Multi-Angle Central Column (MACC)

The multi-angle central column can be moved up and down like a traditional central column for traditional styles like landscape photography, but it can also be moved almost 360° in any direction to take the camera to the subject for styles like macro photography and unboxing videos. We're confident this is the most versatile and intuitive multi-angle central column on the market.

When combined with the three easy set leg angles (23°, 50° and 80°), you can take the camera down to a minimum height of 1cm with ease, perfect for macro photography, then back up to landscape mode in seconds, or angle the multi-angle central column for a more unusual angle of your subject. 

This multi-angle central column mechanism (like the head) is CNC machined from solid aluminium. While this adds a little extra weight, it ensures that the mechanism can be relied on over the years, and the tolerances achieved by the CNC process deliver mirror finishes that can be felt in the smooth movements as you position your central column.  

The multi-angle central column can also be used as a multi-mount when paired with the Studio Multi-Mount Adaptor. This allows you to attach additional cameras or accessories onto the central column when it is positioned horizontally to make the most of your photo, without needing to carry extra tripods.  This adaptor is fitted with a 1/4” thread allowing you to attach a wide range of accessories, though to get the most from this feature, you may need a separate adaptor (such as a tripod head to attach a second camera).

Low Profile Dual Axis Ball Head

This tripod includes an innovative new LB-50S Low Profile Dual Axis Ball Head which includes a traditional pan axis on the base of the head, with an additional pan axis below the quick release plate mount to enable maximum accuracy in framing your shot. The dual axis is allows you to level your camera in seconds on any terrain, then reframe your shot without losing the level. The video below may help demonstrate this:

Please note that this head does not include degrees marking on the top axis. If this is key for you, such as stitching panoramas, then we would recommend the pro level LBP-45S.

The head is also Arca compatible and comes with a  QS-45H quick release plate, but can also be used with nearly any Arca compatible plate from any brand, whether it's an L-bracket for landscape photographers, or a macro rail.  

This is a super light and compact head weighing just 280g and measuring 75mm tall, but it features an oversized 35mm ball and friction control that allows it to handle a kit weighing up to 15kg, more than enough for any camera setup you choose to put on it.

Tripod Legs

This tripod has 26mm carbon fibre legs with 3 sections for a focus on stability, and a good working height, while delivering the portability needed for longer hikes to your chosen location. 

In use, the tripod can extend up to 169cm, or 143cm without the central column for maximum stability. When it is time to move on to the next location or pack up for travel, the tripod folds up to 73cm and weighing 2060g.

The tripod features rapid set and silent twist locks that allow you to deploy and pack the tripod with ease. these twist locks are also designed to be easy to dismantle and clean, maximising the life of your tripod, even when used in the toughest conditions.  You can view our blog to read the full cleaning instructions. 

The feet of the tripod are fitted retractable rubber or spiked feet. These can be used on a wood floor with the rubber foot deployed, then moved to an outdoor setting by simply deploying the built in spiked feet.

On the side of the canopy there is a 3/8" thread hole with a 1/4" adaptor that allows you to attach a magic arm for additional versatility, allowing you to fit a light for a macro shot, or a mic for an unboxing video. Alongside the thread hole are two non-twist bayonet slots for the VEO TSA DLX Tripod Support Arm, ensuring that the magic arm isn't going to unscrew in use.
