What winner Sue Woollard thought of her new Alta Pro 2+ 263AB100

In June 2017, Vanguard UK ran a competition with our friends at Professional Photo magazine and Sue Wollard won the top prize.

Sue made an excellent choice when she selected our new Alta Pro2+ 263AB100 tripod which won the prestigious TIPA 'Best Tripod 2017' and the natty Sedona 41BL camera bag.

Here's what Sue had to say about her new kit!

I really enjoyed getting to grips with the Alta Pro 2+ 263AB100 tripod.

My main area of interest is flowers and macro so I am often trying to steady a camera down low for some shot or other.

I had 2 tripods, one very sturdy but too heavy, and one fabulously lightweight but not flexible enough in terms of positioning. This has replaced both of them as it’s light enough to carry but sturdy enough to be stable, as well as being about as flexible as it can be. Even better is that it's pretty obvious which lever or knob operates which bit of the tripod so it was very quick and easy to get into position.

The Sedona 41 bag was as welcome as the tripod in that it effectively bridges the gap between my very small bag for a quick trip out, and a bag that will carry all of my kit but is then too heavy to carry round.

Very handy in that I can use it as a half and half bag with room at the top for purse, phone, packed lunch and raincoat - or I can use the whole bag for camera gear. That allows me to fit my Nikon D750, Nikon 70-300mm lens, Nikon 18-35mm end, Sigma 105 Macro lens and a Lensbaby lens too - oh, and a set of macro extension tubes just in case. At that, I can still fit in my purse and phone. Fabulous backpack with enough room for the essentials without becoming too heavy to carry...

So, all in all, very pleased with this kit and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to my friends. Thank you again for making it available for the competition!
